Mami Sakurai "BASHO" 12. juuli - 2. august

BASHO (Põld/Paik)
Mami Sakurai installatsioon

"Inimene – Loodus – Muusika... Ma mõtlen, kuidas nad on omavahel seotud?
Jaapan – Eesti... Jälle mõtlen, kuidas nad on omavahel seotud?

Installatsiooniga on võimalik tutvuda 12. juulist kuni 02. augustini.

Y Gallery presents:

BASHO (Field/Place)
installation by Mami Sakurai

On 12th of July we present the installation "Basho" by Japanese musician and artist Mami Sakurai in Y Gallery (Jakobi 1, Tartu). Mami Sakurai is currently in residency of Print Museum and is working and performing in different places in Estonia and Finland.

"Human – Nature – Music... I wonder how they are connected to each other?
Japan – Estonia... I also wonder how they are connected to each other?
Knowing the wonderful and spiritual connection – how could I express my feeling and my love for the ‘treasure field’ which is connected to others, who also love it?
That is why I’ve made this product "BASHO".
"BASHO" is made with Music, Botanical dyeing, Paper folding and Writing.
I hope you feel something when you’re in this ‘FIELD’."

The song and artworks presented in the installation are based on old Japanese folk song “Basho”, that is part of Bon festival, which is dedicated to close ones, who have passed away. The festival takes place in various parts of Japan during July and August.

The installation can be seen from 12th of July to 2nd of August.

SINDRE BJERGA ja CRAZY RIVER 26. juunil Tartus

26. juunil kell 19.00 toimub Y Galeriis (Jakobi 1, Tartu) kahe Norra päritolu muusiku SINDRE BJERGA ja CRAZY RIVER'i kontsert.
Sissepääs on tasuta/Entrance is free!

Rohkem infot/More info:

SINDRE BJERGA

Experimental / psychedelic drone / collage music from Norway. I have been touring all over Europe, also Russia, Ukraine, Argentina and Japan for many years and have release more than 100 records on labels all over the world. I also run the Gold Soundz label: www.hifiallergy.wordpress.com
"Majestic balance burns through damaged synapse. Entrancing electro-acoustic scratch, long form isolationism and cavernous tape-drone meditation from Sindre Bjerga, who should need no introduction after his prolific string of releases on various labels across the underground spectrum"
"What remains consistent from one release to the next is a sense of personality. Whatever sub-sub-sub genre he happens to be working in – space-drone, gurglecore, dictaphonics, others of his own devising – he imbues it with an engaging, informing intelligence. Playful, unafraid to meander, yet always attentive, thought through and sharp when it needs to be." - Rob Hayler, Radio Free Midwich
"A very fine piece of electro-acoustic music, not highly refined – in fact: far from it – but a rather personal touch from this great Norwegian guy. Very nice indeed. Catch this guy playing when it he is in your area." - Frans de Waard, Vital Weekly
